Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt) and wet messes (spills and stains) in one session without the need to change devices. They can also help save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly application that lets you pick the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can choose to have the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen areas but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only drawback is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at full speed - but a quick glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks need to be done like emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the water tank in a controlled manner by using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time as well, with the mop being capable of operating for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. best automatic vacuum cleaner can view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easy to understand however we would like to be able to distinguish between a vacuum only or mop clean, when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop is the most recent version. It's not like the model from last year it comes with two agitators in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power which allows it to pull up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.
The Roborock model, like the other two I tried it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It is able to change its course automatically and clean the objects without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process, a mop button that doubles as a child-lock and a home-button that can bring the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin auto-refills.
The only negative I discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of clever features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these via the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. You'll have to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its innovative design lets users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the most effective alternatives available. This powerful vacuum removes the dry mess, which includes pet hair and dust. It also comes with a top-quality mop that makes hard floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. Additionally, the X40 is quiet in operation, only producing occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 also has a side brush that is able to be extended and lifted. This allows it to reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture that is curved like table and chair legs. The robot is also able to reach under furniture with low profile which makes it an ideal choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots, which is a nice addition that assists the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by repeated back-andforth movements.
In contrast to other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or in a series. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is intuitive and simple to use and the X40's clever features are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, switch modes, look at maps and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and has many convenient features which make it a good option for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also detect when the mop pad is full and alert you before it overflows, thus reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive available, but it packs in numerous extra features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature of its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, dirt particles and pick up spills and dirty spots.
The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature because it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. It's a system that has yet to be seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and it could be a great way of keeping your home hygienic for longer.
There are plenty of options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and change preferences. The app allows you to define these preferences, or you can utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning process, and there are numerous features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of using the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on market, sporting metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list but it's not too heavy. It is solid and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. They can even extend to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice feature.
